Western Sydney Employment Networking Summit

It is not too late for Western Sydney labour market stakeholders to register for a summit identifying the key trends and issues of the local labour market, according to Steve Willingale, acting CEO, of the Penrith Valley Economic Development Corporation (PVEDC).

“The Western Sydney Employment Networking Summit will be an ideal opportunity to identify and develop practical approaches for improving services and outcomes across the employment services industry,” he said.

“The Penrith Valley Economic Development Corporation, Mamre Homestead and the Sydney Business Consultants Group have joined forces to hold the all-day event at the Mamre Homestead, at St Marys, on October 30.”

The key features of the summit would include a presentation by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations on labour market conditions, and two workshops facilitated by members of the Sydney Business Consultants Group.

“Karen Chijoff and David Bradbury, candidates for the Federal seat of Lindsay will attend and discuss the labour market issues in the electorate,” he said.

The Sydney Business Consultants Group, which services businesses in Penrith Valley and beyond is the first of its kind for a local government area. The group combines the expertise of specialist consultants in fields such as the environment, marketing, engineering, law, finance, international trade, planning and business management to name a few.

Mr Willingale said the Sydney Business Consultants Group was an initiative of the PVEDC’s Business Growth and Marketing Task Group. “Penrith is very fortunate to have a core of highly specialised consultants who perform at the top echelon in the marketplace, consulting to both industry and government.”

The summit fee of $65, which includes lunch and refreshments, would go to funding ongoing projects of Mamre Homestead. Phone 4731 5711 or go to www.sydney-australia.biz/consultant for information on registering.
